Beef Lasagna

OSR Beef Lasagna

A exceptional beef lasagna that is a family favourite. We serve this every fall at our preg checking lunch with our vet with caesar salad and garlic bread.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 tbsp basil
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 14 oz can of tomato sauce
  • 9-10 strips of express lasagna noodles
  • 1 egg
  • 1.5 cups cottage cheese
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 lb mozzarella cheese sliced thin

Instructions
 

  • Brown meat slowly. Add next 3 ingredients. simmer, covered for 15 minutes. Stir often.
  • Beat egg in a bowl and add remaining ingredients, except cheese. Stir.
  • Layer ⅓ noodles in a 13 X 9 X 2 inch baking dish, spread ⅓ of sauce, slices of cheese and then cottage cheese mixture. Repeat. Then layer with last ⅓ of sauce and then cheese.
  • Sprinkle top with parmesan cheese.
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes or 45 minutes if it was in the fridge.
  • Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
