Beef stew with mashed potatoes

OSR Beef Stew

A delicious stew for cold winter evenings.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs stew meat
  • 1 tbsp Montreal steak spice
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 onions
  • 2-3 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cup tomato paste
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 4-5 carrots

Instructions
 

  • Cut up the onions and mince garlic.
  • In a roasting pan, add some butter and brown the stew meat with the onions and garlic. Sprinkle in some Montreal steak spice.
  • Add the tomato paste and stir.
  • Slowly add the beef broth while mixing.
  • Add Worcestershire sauce and sugar. Bring it all to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to low.
  • Simmer for 1.5 hours.
  • Add carrots and then simmer for another 30-45 minutes. Add more broth if neccessary.
  • Season with salt and pepper and servce over mashed potatoes.
