All I want for Christmas is to spend time with family with some time to work the show cattle, without being sick! No better way to spend the holidays! Who agrees?!

Cold and windy. That usually describes winter in Knutsford. During the extreme cold, the animals are bedded down with extra bedding and they have shelter from the wind. We feed extra hay during the cold days to help them keep warm. Every job takes a bit longer on the really cold and windy days. I can remember two years ago having almost all of our water troughs in the barnyard freeze up during the extreme cold while trying to get ready for the holidays. That wasn’t a fun week! But this year, we don’t have a lot of snow and we haven’t had the very cold temperatures yet. But I am sure the cold will arrive soon! How different has your winter looked so far this year?

The holidays are fast approaching! Our last delivery before Christmas is this Wednesday, Dec 18th. We will then be doing a delivery on December 27th. We have some extra prime rib roasts available. We also have some 2025 ranch calendars and just a couple of our custom 2024 Christmas ornaments left.

Making memories. Every December, we spend a couple

Making memories. Every December, we spend a couple evenings as a family working with the boys on the Canadian Junior Hereford Association Semen donation nomination form. We all look through the list of sires so that they can select 6, in order of preference. We look at pedigrees, EPDs, progeny and photos of the bulls. Fingers crossed that the boys will get one of their choices of sires. It is so exciting for them to be able to build their own herd over the next number of years.
