We are getting packed and ready for the boys last

We are getting packed and ready for the boys last cattle show of 2023. It’s hard to believe their year is almost over. It has truly been an amazing year for them. They have grown so much in their grooming and showing skills while having lots of fun playing with their friends and making new friends.

The boys would like to invite you to the BC Agricu

The boys would like to invite you to the BC Agricultural Expo this next weekend from Sept 22nd to 25th at the North Thompson Agriplex in Barriere.

Their two steers, along with many other beef, lamb, goat, rabbit, photography and small engine projects, sell on Monday, Sept 25th by live auction. You can attend the live auction and it will also be online live stream bidding through dlms.ca.

The boys picked out their steers from our calves last fall and they have been feeding and working with them for the past year. They has been fed grain and hay and raised without the use of any added hormones.

If you are interested in finding out more about this wonderful local fair and auction and/or interested in purchasing a steer or a share of a steer, please message us.

We are coming into our busy fall season for gather

We are coming into our busy fall season for gathering cattle, selling calves and delivering beef and lamb orders. This has to be one of my favourite times of year. This year it feels a bit different, but we will soon have the cows and calves on the hayfields at home for a short time. There isn't anything that feels more like fall than seeing the cows out in the field. PS - This view almost looks the same! ❤️

We took a drive up through a portion of the back of our private land today. Mother Nature has a unique way of picking areas to burn and other areas to leave. There are spots that look like this, other spots that have had a moderate level of fire and then some spots that are still green. Some
areas that have been previously selectively harvested, some areas that have been grazed more recently and some areas close to the hayfields and open areas have been less impacted compared to the more heavily timbered areas.

Hope you all had a great first day back to school and a great long weekend! We had a wonderful time at the 2023 IPE this past week. It was nice to spend some time as a family with cattle and have a bit of normalcy for a few days. We are back home and navigating the next steps. We will soon be gathering the calves for sale. We will also be selling some bred cows and possibly some bred heifers for anyone interested.
